day 9: fresh fruit

I remember growing up with the notion that tomatoes were vegetables. I know I'm not alone in this. I also remember learning that tomatoes were in fact really considered a fruit and I smugly, in my new-found knowledge, felt compelled to tell everyone that fact like it was earth-shattering and would forever change how that person viewed the world. The reality is, it didn't really change anything other than maybe taught me the lesson that just because the world defines it as such, doesn't necessarily change my view of it entirely.

Anyway, why am I showing you a picture of tomatoes? Because the picture of the day is "fresh fruit" and I'm currently sitting in a hotel near Washington DC and had very little opportunity to find any real fresh fruit. So breaking with tradition, I searched through my old files and found this beauty. I it took back in February one Sunday afternoon while playing with my camera before making tomato soup. So I guess its a win-win of sorts as it keeps me up to date on this little 30 day picture fun and I get to show off my pretty little tomato picture.
