These are the books that are currently occupying my time...
- current read: 'Tis by Frank McCourt. I read this back in college for a class on American Immigration History and loved it. Loving it all over again.
- next up: Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. There are very few books that I re-read (although that doesn't appear so considering my previous book is a re-read...guess I'm on a trend). Anyway, this was the first book that time escaped me and I realized I had been reading all through the night as the sun's rays were sweeping across the pages the next morning.
- What Makes A Rainbow by Betty Ann Schwartz is a new found love for the kiddo. I think she most loves the ribbons that build a rainbow with each flip of the page.
- Bible in The Message translation. At the beginning of the year, rather than commit to doing a 'read the bible in a year' challenge, I decided I'd focus on reading a Proverb a day instead...one for each corresponding day of the month. Each month I read a different translation. I also get this reading in as soon as the kiddo goes down for her afternoon nap...that way if it ends up being a day that she doesn't take a nap, I'll still have at least had a chance to get a daily dose of some good wisdom in.
- Sweet P love, Love, LOVES Curious George. Today we went to Target to test the potty training while out and about and discovered this book, A Treasury of Curious George, by A. H. Rey. She's loving it and has been requesting me to read it to her as well as just sitting and looking at the pictures.
- That little spiral bound book is my daily planner. I'm a list maker and I love writing on a calendar and touching the pen to paper. I think that is something that digital will never convert in me.
- The Cake Mix Doctor is 1 of 2 books my dear neighbor gave me as an early "not saying good-bye" gifts. She even wrote me a few notes on where her favorite recipes are. This is on my list to look through.
- The New Best Recipe is book 2 that my dear neighbor gave me. Fun book and loaded with a lot of info...such as this little tid-bit I found that really does work. When cutting onions, light a candle and it will help remove the stinging onion vapors that make your eyes tear up.
- Lastly, my sketch book. Love this thing and it houses a ton of ideas I have for the house, garden, blog designs, crafts, sewing projects, lists, etc.
