a bit of random

Probably had THE best crab cake I've ever had yesterday. I can say this because I've only recently started eating crab, so there's very few crab cakes to compare it to. But it was awesome and amazing and yummy. Oh, and did I mention they came in the form of Alaskan King Crab Cakes Egg Benedict? Yup. Mmm...good stuff. Seriously good stuff. The only appalling thing about it is that I failed to get a picture of it. Shucks, I guess I'll just have to go back and get another plate.

The furnace broke on us yesterday. But we didn't really notice until this morning. We initially thought the thermostat was just being silly again. Thankfully its only September and not January. Although I suppose we would've figured out the broken furnace bit a little sooner had it been January.

Hoping to catch some sights like this tonight.

Apparently there's a pretty good forecast for it tonight.

Sigh. I spent nearly an hour raking leaves the other night. I still have piles to pick up and bag, but now the grass is littered with a ton of leaves again.

I guess its just the price to pay for having 14 trees in the backyard. I still like having these trees though.

  1. Yumm! Crab cakes sound REALLY good. We mulch our leaves in the lawn mower - it's a lot easier than raking (but you do have to dump them into a trash can) - of course you have way more experience than us Texans with leaves falling :) Great backyard, though!

  2. Fun place you've got here!!

My husband LOVES a good crab cake (there are lots of bad ones out there...) As for me, I'm allergic. :(

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your nice comment!
