As a combo trip of celebrating our anniversary, visiting with SweetP's Aunt who was in the state for a conference before her move out of the country, and an attempt to escape some of the summer time heat, we headed to Aspen, CO for a couple of days. It was a lot of fun and man was it gorgeous.
I got a kick out seeing this image on our GPS as we were heading up Independence Pass.

Took a Gondola ride up Aspen Mountain. First time ever on a Colorado ski slope (sad, I know having lived 20+ years in CO). None-the-less, amazing views and fun ride.
See what I mean about the amazing views? Little did I realize I'd be seeing amazing views like this once we arrived here in Alaska...but even more of 'em.
