Anyway, its morning and my house is still sleeping despite the fact that its after 8. My love is still asleep (yay for him being home from his most recent trip!), the dogs went back to sleep now that they have their breakfast in their tummies, and the kiddo is still asleep.
The kiddo has been doing a lot of sleeping lately probably because she's been a little under the weather. Last night I was convinced she was coming down with an ear infection and figured I'd be up during the night. Surprisingly, not the case and instead she's still sleeping. Crossing my fingers that she's ear infection free.
The weather: Like last week, I woke up to the sound of rain. I don't mind the rain. In fact today I'm kinda craving it. My love is hoping for snow though. He might get it. The latest forecast is saying that tonight it may switch over to snow and we might get 3-5 inches. I guess if that happens, we'll both get what we want.
Yesterday I went for a run after bible study outside on the track. It was so refreshing. To be outside, running free from the treadmill with fresh air. I loved it. There was just something about the cold air and the dark purple-y clouds coming our way mixed with the sunshine that just felt good.
Outside my window: raindrops on the window.
I am thinking: How I love the quietness of mornings before the house is awake. The stillness and the calm.
How I can't believe I'm turning 30 a month from today. 30! How is it possible that I'm already turning 30?!?
I am thankful for: having a husband that is home again and having one of our late night cereal dates in the kitchen last night. I love how we do this sometimes. We've done this since our early days of being married. We get hungry late in the evening, we scrounge for something to eat, and we eventually end up eating a bowl of cereal while just chatting and laughing.
From the kitchen: Last night we tried out a new recipe for Buttnernut Squash Soup. It was quite yummy and is good for you too! I'll post the recipe later today.
I am wearing: again I'm wearing my pajamas because I wanted to enjoy as much of the quietness of the morning as possible. They're charcoal grey flannel pants with little pink and green flowers and a black tank top. I'm also wearing my love's robe that I nearly always steal from him. :)
On my "to do" list: go to the commissary. I still need to put together a menu and grocery list too. I like to go as early in the morning as I can and since Wednesdays are non-workout days for me, it helps me get it done earlier.
Still need to finish working on the project in Sweet P's bathroom. I finished caulking and putting putty on last week. Now I just need to go get the paint. Kinda weird how I haven't been to Lowe's in several weeks. Maybe I'll go today when the kiddo goes on her pizza lunch date with her daddy (assuming she's not sick with an ear infection).
On my "accomplished" list: I went to the post office and got rid of my packages!!! AND!!! To top it off, I got to enjoy it because the one post man that I truly enjoy talking to was there greeting me with a smile and friendly chit chat.
Last week I attempted to go to one of those 'does it all' type of package places. Ha! I walked back out of there with all of my packages still in hand a few minutes later INCLUDING the pre-paid return box. They were going to charge me nearly $15 per box (they were little boxes too) and charge me 50 cents to take the pre-paid return box since it was UPS via USPS. Uh...no thank you. Yeah, those proposed $15 fees to send my boxes ended up costing me about $3 at the post office instead. Crazy, huh? So I guess the post office isn't quite so bad after all.
And lastly, a recent favorite pic:
I took this picture on Sunday afternoon, taking advantage of the great afternoon light, as we were just playing around. I was having fun playing with my camera and its frustrating but fun lens and the kiddo was doing what she does best: playing and looking great in front of the camera.
