It is early morning and I woke up at 6 on my own...actually I woke up with a sudden dread of having forgotten to pay a bill. After a few minutes that dread ceased as I remembered I did in fact pay said bill with plenty of time to spare. Funny how it really takes a few minutes for your brain to wake up. Whew!
The weather: woke up to the sound of rain...in January. I think I've been away from home much too long as this is no longer weird to me. What's funny is that yesterday everybody back home in Colorado was talking about the freak rain they were getting and commenting about how it was January. Haha. Anyway, I'm pretty excited that its raining and not still sleeting because it means the kiddo gets to go to school (which she was really excited about last night) and I get to check out a new bible study that starts up today.
Outside my window: darkness of night, patches of snow in my front yard, a car passing by, and rain puddles.
I am thinking: about what I want to wear today and how I'm already ready for winter to go bye-bye. I don't know about others, but sometimes I just feel so claustrophobic wearing all these layers of clothing and socks and shoes, etc.
I am thankful for: my health. I have a family member who is and has been sick for nearly a month now and just not getting any better.
From the kitchen: Well, considering its the wee hours of the morning, the kitchen is quiet and dark. There's still a trail of blue tissue paper bits from yesterday's craft project on the floor and the chair cushions by the island. I'm thinking my Cream of Chicken and Wild Rice Soup is in my kitchen's near future though after going to Panera Bread for our pit-stop meal the other day and being thoroughly disappointed with theirs. (Panera really disappointed me the other day overall with their food.)
I am wearing: my pajamas since I'm still in bed. Navy blue knit pants and a sea foam green t-shirt.
On my "to do" list: STILL go to the post office. (I told ya I hated doing that task.)
Finish working on the project in Sweet P's bathroom. When my parents were out over Christmas, my dad and my love installed beadboard. Now I just have to finish caulking and then paint it all. Shouldn't take long and I'm loving the results.
On my "accomplished" list: Made a few phone calls in getting things squared away for this and that yesterday.
I've logged in 23 miles so far this month via bike, running, and elyptical. Thinking I may need to tweak my monthly goal to a bit higher of a number since I'm only 3 miles away from the intended and its only the middle of the month.
And lastly, a recent favorite pic:
Not neccessarily the pic itself, but I love the memory associated with it. It was the morning of our last snow and I woke up early (again on my own) and decided to shovel the driveway and walks. While out, the sun came up and it was just such a beautiful and quiet morning that just had a lasting impression.

I woke up a couple days ago with that same dread -but I didn't pay my bill. Luckily, I was off a couple days and still got it paid early. I hate going to the post office too and just this December started buying my postage online with Paypal. It prints out a big label and I leave it for my mailman. Not sure he likes it with all the items I ship!
