We froze, kiddo did not

A few weeks ago we stayed the night in a Georgia hotel before catching a flight to head home the next day. We checked into our hotel late that night and well past the kiddo's bed time.

Typical to the south, the AC was definitely blasting leaving the room less than comfortable. The little sign on the actual unit said to use the thermostat on the wall to control the temperature. We followed the directions, and still nothing seemed to change. Eventually, after a couple of hours, we caved and ignored the sign on the unit and messed with the actual unit. We actually had a little bit of success and were able to raise it to 61 degrees. Yeah, two measly degrees up from the programmed 59. (Totally not kidding...and its ironic that they have installed the energy efficient switch in the rooms that cuts power to the room/suite when nobody is in it.)

Anyway, I feared that if we messed with it in our bedroom (we stayed in a suite) when it was time to go to bed, that it would get messed up and we'd boil instead. That, and I figured it wasn't as cold in our room. I was wrong. My sweet husband and I huddled close together under the blankets all night freezing our rears off. I even did my old camping in a sleeping bag trick by putting my head under the covers to warm up. Amazingly, the kiddo slept through the night totally fine.

The next morning, I had to wake her up to catch our flight. This is what I found.

A kiddo who kicked her blankets off.

Also a kiddo who likes to sleep with her bum in the air like I did when I was her age.

Too cute.
