So not one, but two snowstorms, yes two(!) hit the lovely place I call home while I was away these last 10 days.

Here's a view of my backyard from my friend's. I'm the third yard over. But if you look at my friends fence, you can see the snow drift that goes right up to the top of the fence. Hmm...maybe my fence won't contain the pups too well...
So when I called this afternoon to the kennel that has my two fuzzy and fluffy pups to let them know that my friend who was going to pick them up was unable to even get out of our neighborhood, it didn't come as a complete shock that I discovered my flights home tomorrow were canceled. It was a couple hours later that we learned that wasn't the case but that Dallas was getting smacked with a little snow as well, which is essentially halting all air traffic.
Well, it just so happens that Dallas is where my layover is.
So, considering my flight is the nice and super early time of 6am, I kinda need to figure out what we're doing tonight. So my options are: try and get on another flight through a different connecting point (none of which exist with my current airline) tomorrow or stay through either Saturday or Sunday. If I didn't have the added expense of nearly $100 for kenneling the pups, it would probably be a no-brainer of staying in beautiful Colorado for a couple extra days soaking up the spectacular scenery, getting in a few runs on the trails, enjoying more time with my parents, etc.
This is the spectacular scenery I was talking about.
So as a result, I'm sitting here waiting. Waiting for the airline operator to get to my call. We're at 48 minutes and counting. And that's not even counting the call and wait of 32 minutes before giving up and putting the kiddo to bed for the night. Could be a long wait. But if I can get on this flight I found, I would get home just two hours later than originally planned but leaving at a more reasonable hour. Sigh...I just hope this waiting isn't for nothing. I'd like to go to bed sometime soon.

Hope you guys were able to figure it out! Here's a link to one of our work friends' blog showing pictures from Dallas
