project 52:9 | birthday memories

I totally love SweetP's expression in this picture. Every time I look at it, I hear her saying "I'm makin' a cake, yo!"  She didn't really say it like that, but its what I see and hear.

I don't know. You can shake your head too...much like my love did when I told him. But at least you are spared my re-enactment of it as it took a little bit to muster going back into my high school days.

Another first for this kiddo.  When it came time for the candle to be blown out, we had a nice surprise.  The kiddo's response for every birthday has been flat out refusal to blow out the candle...pretty much out of fear.  Yeah, think complete melt down, tears streaming down the face, "get it away from me" kind of event.  Even 2 1/2 months ago when she turned 3 she wanted nothing to do with blowing out the candle.  But not for my birthday!  Nope, this kid is all about changing it up on us and she blew it out before I even had a chance.

Again, so not normal, she dove in and ate the cake...frosting and all.  Apparently her aversion to sweets, ice cream, cake, frosting, etc has worn off.  She's diving into this "kids like this sweets stuff" mentality without any hesitation.  I swear this is still the same kid I birthed.  If it weren't for her beautiful and crazy long hair, I'd wonder if I accidentally brought home the wrong child from the gym's nursery.  But I've yet to see another child her age with hair as long as hers.  ;o)
