I've been told that this summer is cooler than normal. I have to admit, that helps a little considering I knew coming here that a cooler summer was going to be a little hard on me, which has been proving itself to be true. Yeah, I'm one of those crazies that pines for the heat and humidity that is plaguing so many down in the 'lower 48'. So here's hoping that next summer will be more 'normal' summer temps.Anyway, this week we have been blessed with much warmer temps! The sun has been out shining, the temps have been in the low 70's, and its just gorgeous. We've had the windows open in the house and absolutely no use of the heater this week! (Yeah, you read that correctly, I've used the heater a number of times during the summer...call me a wuss. I can handle it.)
We had a good chuckle with the local news weather forecast declaring that Wednesday's 73degree high was supposed to be 'smokin' hot'. I bet all you down in the 'lower 48' are loving to read that, huh?
Anyway, kiddo and I were getting lunch ready (baked ziti...perhaps I should share that recipe soon) when just as we were about to sit at the counter we both decided to take it outside and have a picnic. So we did. And we loved it--especially the kiddo.
