A Tale of Two Texts

There once was a girl who found an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G deal on some beautiful outdoor light fixtures. On her way to pick them up, she sent Husband a quick text letting him know exactly where she was going and that she would send a text once she arrived home.

When she returned home safe and sound, she sent a text to sweet Husband informing him that she was "home but crushed...but small sliver of hope. Will explain more later."

Receiving this text, Girl's Husband called as soon as he could, somewhat alarmed. After hearing the disappointing news about the light fixtures, he ends by saying, "maybe put something about the light fixtures in your text, so I'm not so alarmed." Girl was confused as she had sent the text prior to that and figured the context would be explanatory enough. Husband replied, "Two texts? Only received the one."

"Hmm..." thought the Girl..."must've gotten lost in text world" and continued on with her day.

Now just to provide a little background, Girl often finds herself without Husband for extended periods of time. Just the way life is. Girl also has a Friend two houses down that also finds herself in the same predicament. So Girl and Friend made arrangements to "check-in" when one or the other, or, quite often, both find themselves without their dudes. Really for safety's sake.

A while later, Friend sends a text to Girl asking if she'd made it home yet. "Ah-ha!" thought Girl, "that's where the text went!" Turns out Girl just went into auto-pilot and sent original text to Friend rather than Husband. In the words of Girl's toddler, "uh-oh!"
