Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a missionary?
Meet some sweet friends with big hearts for the Lord and His mission. The Frazier family are some friends of ours from our college days through a Sunday School class called Seekers (now called Thrive) at First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs. Up until just recently, Jim was a science teacher up at Woodland Park in Colorado, while Heather stayed at home with their two cute kiddos.
As of recent, they finished up their month long orientation that consisted of a lot of miles traveled, living out of suitcases (sounds like fun with two kids, huh?) and immersing themselves into a completely different culture. They just arrived at their new to them house that they will make into their home on the campus of Rift Valley Academy in Kenya. There, Jim will be a high school biology and secondary school science teacher to the children of other missionaries based around Africa. During the day while Jim is teaching and their oldest kiddo is attending kindergarten, Heather will be taking care of their youngest while also helping out around the campus wherever she's needed.
The Fraziers have been looking forward to this time of servitude for quite some time and have put a lot of work and effort into getting where they are now. So, for anybody who is interested in seeing what it is like as a missionary, you can check out their blog, "Aspen Leaves to Acacia Trees" and hear about their experiences as they begin this journey living as missionaries through Africa Inland Mission at Rift Valley Academy. While you're at it, you might even learn a thing or two about Kenya.

So interesting! We have friends that taught at RVA probably 10 years ago (he's now a pastor at our church) - we stayed fairly close to there when we went to Kenya back in '96 (my mom visited the hospital out there). And, I'm pretty sure some missionaries that visited our church were in that same orientation class - the Staples. Small world!
