Gotta take a quick break from the vacation dialogue and make a quick mention of a super cute book we found at the library last week.
A Day With No Crayons by Elizabeth Rusch is such a clever little book about a little girl who loves to make pictures using her crayons, but gets into trouble and gets to spend the rest of the day without crayons. The use of color, the reference to artists like van Gogh and Pollock, the flow of the words, and more importantly the moral of the story are brilliant and definitely make this a great book to own.
I guess I have a little more appreciation for my degree in art history than I realized as I'm finding more and more how much the art around me and the references mean to me.
