A fall Saturday excursion at the park!

Cute funny pictures (above and below).

My husband had a volunteer thing to do today but it was such a beautiful fall morning that the kiddo and I just had to get outside to enjoy. Earlier this week it felt like fall was a long way off with highs in the mid 80s and high humidity. Yesterday, however, we were finally able to turn the AC off, open the windows, and just enjoy the cool, dryer air. Today we're continuing the trend although the rain is on its way. While the day started off with pretty sunshine, it is now cloudy and breezier.

How cute is this? There's just something about seeing your kiddo in a weathered swing on the playground.

I think she's liking it. What do you think?

Anyway, the Guidry's joined us on our little jaunt to the park and we all enjoyed some fun on the playground. I'm learning the total fun of using the excuse of playing on the playground with the kiddo to get that old familiar feel of playing. But, I am discovering that I really am not kid-sized anymore as I have a few bumps on my head to prove it. :) And can I just say, why weren't playgrounds this cool when I was a kid?!?

Tunneling our way through to get to the top of the slide.

The munchkin and I sat on the swing, joined in an all-girl ride on the tire swing, and went down a few slides. My legs are much too long for the swing now and I've also discovered that flip flops are not the best choice of footwear when it comes to the playground either. Oh, and did I mention the static electricity from the slide?!? Oww! Yet another reason not to wear flip flops. The second time the kiddo and I went down the twisty slide, when I came to the end, I got zapped by the static on my big toe. It crackled and snapped so loud even the Guidry's heard it and I felt it several minutes following. Thankfully I was able to bite my tongue before letting some choice words fly out of my mouth sparing all the kids' ears.

All us girls piled on the tire swing!

Going down the slide!

See the static in the kiddo's hair!?! Yeah, my big toe was about to suffer.

But alas, lunch time hunger set in which meant it was time to head home to fill those little tummies. The kiddo didn't work up as big of an appetite as I had expected but she is still asleep for her afternoon nap. Once she wakes up we'll be heading to a friend's for a BBQ where P will join us!

A double slide with Theresa and little J!
